The course consists of several 58-hour modules. You can choose the number of modules according to your level of linguistic competence (Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate or Advanced), your academic habits, and your aptitude. The syllabus follows the rationale of 'International Legal English' by Amy Krois-Lindner and TransLegal-the most in-depth and systematic textbook for the ILEC exam.
The new textbook by Amy Crois-Lindner, Matt Firth, and TransLegal 'Introduction to International Legal English' is meant for Intermediate students. It offers rich content with an Anglo-American twist. Tort Law, Criminal Law, Litigation and Arbitration, Law of Agency are some of the areas that provide ample ground for analysis and comparison with civil-law jurisdictions. Meanwhile, the International Law and Comparative Law units lend a more European and global dimension. The course responds to the needs of Bulgarian students in Law, as well as practicing lawyers and government officials who intend to sit the exam for the International Legal English Certificate (ILEC). The certification is a collaborative project between Cambridge University and TransLegal. The course we offer is tailored to the format of the ILEC exam. The syllabus is focused on achievement performance, rather than on enhancing the general professional competence of law students or lawyers. We review the following areas: • Corporate Law • Business associations • Contract Law • Sale of goods • Real property • Debtor-creditor • Intellectual property • Employment • Competition • Environmental • Negotiable instruments • Secured transactions • International Law
